Firefighters have quickly tackled a burning home in the Timber Ridge area Wednesday evening (Sep. 17).
The Windermere Fire Department responded to the call with 15 members and four pieces of apparatus, while Invermere Fire supported the operation with six members and one apparatus, along with BC Ambulance and RCMP.
“When we arrived on scene, the home was fully involved,” said Columbia Valley Rural Fire and Rescue Service Assistant Chief Thomas Dobbin.
“All the firefighters did an excellent job getting the fire knocked down so it didn’t spread into nearby trees or other structures.”
All occupants were able to get out of the home, although one person was taken to hospital with burns for further treatment.
Crews remained on scene until the fire was mopped up.
The cause of the fire is unknown and remains under investigation.
