First responders in Kimberley and Cranbrook are hosting a charity golf tournament in support of Summit Community Services Society, a local organization that provides a range of social and victim support services in the region.
The First Responders Charity Golf Classic is scheduled for Saturday, (Sept. 13) at Purcell Golf, with all proceeds going toward Summit’s program’s.
“All the money is going to go to Summit Community Services,” says Corporal Dean Kletzel of the Kimberley RCMP.
“They do a wide range of things for our community–everything from domestic violence support to victim services, and they’re starting a new men’s program we’re really excited about.”
Summit offers early childhood development programming, seniors outreach, victim services, and counselling, including services for people impacted by family and domestic violence.
The golf tournament is expected to draw player’s from across the region.
It includes a team-based format and additional fundraising additions such as auctions.
First responders say the event is intended to support services that directly support locals in Kimberley, Cranbrook, and surrounding areas.
