Mounties in Cranbrook are touting the quick, successful recovery of a stolen ATV this week.
On August 10, the RCMP received a report about a theft that had occurred overnight, but the initial surveillance footage did not yield any helpful clues.
It wasn’t until Tuesday (Aug. 12) that a resident submitted a tip, leading officers to the ATV on 17th Avenue North, where it was stashed in the bushes near Joseph Creek.
“The recovery is a great example of how Police and our community work together to protect our neighborhoods”, said Cranbrook RCMP Commander S/Sgt Barry Graham.
“We encourage residents to continue to report any suspicious activity immediately, what may seem minor could make the difference in ensuring the recovery of someone’s property.”
The vehicle has now been returned to its rightful owners.
Police continue to gather surveillance video from the area, and the investigation is still ongoing.
Residents are urged to stay alert and to report any unusual events to the RCMP’s online crime reporting tool or call the non-emergency line at 250-489-3471.
