RCMP in Cranbrook are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect believed to be connected to two separate vehicle thefts earlier this week.
According to the RCMP, the first incident took place on Monday, July 28, at approximately 3:25 p.m., when a white 2011 Ford F-350 with B.C. license plate LX1632 was stolen from the 800 block of Kootenay Street North.
The truck was later recovered abandoned in the parking lot of East Side Mario’s.
The second incident reportedly happened the following evening, Tuesday, July 29, around 8:30 p.m.
A blue 2019 GMC Sierra, license plate WJ9684, was taken from the 1500 block of 3rd Avenue South.
That vehicle was also found abandoned not long after, near the intersection of 22nd Street South and 4th Avenue.
RCMP believe the same individual may be involved in both thefts and are hoping to identify them.
While officers have obtained some video footage, the image quality is limited.
RCMP are asking anyone with surveillance, dashcam, or doorbell video from either time period to check for images of the suspect.
Anyone with information is asked to call Cranbrook RCMP at 250-489-3471 or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
