Cranbrook RCMP is asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect involved in the theft of more than $4,000 worth of Milwaukee tools.
The incident took place in the early morning hours of July 20th in the 1200 block of 6th Street North.
Surveillance footage captured a suspect in possession of the stolen items at approximately 2:59 a.m., heading toward the industrial area of town.
The RCMP are now asking businesses in and around the 6th Street North industrial area to review their security footage from between 2:30 and 4:00 a.m. on July 20.
Investigators are interested in any video that shows the suspect’s face or direction of travel.
“It’s easy to focus only on video that shows the crime itself,” said Staff Sergeant Barry Graham.
“But footage showing a suspect in the area before or after an incident can be just as important in helping us identify them and gather the evidence needed to support criminal charges.”
The RCMP say tips from recent crimes have been helpful and encourage residents to continue reporting any suspicious activity.
Anyone with information, surveillance, or dash cam footage are urged to contact the Cranbrook RCMP detachment at 250-489-3471.
A video clip of the suspect has been released and RCMP are asking the public to stay alert and continue sharing any relevant information.
