Kimberley RCMP are rolling out a new initiative this summer aimed at recognizing the positive actions of local youth.
The detachment has launched a Positive Ticketing program, which will see officers on patrol handing out “tickets” to children caught doing good — from wearing helmets while biking to helping seniors or safely crossing the street.
Instead of fines, these tickets come with rewards.
Each ticket includes a coupon redeemable at one of three local businesses: a free kids’ sized ice cream cone from Summit Snacks in the Platzl, a swim at the Kimberley Aquatic Centre, or a custom sticker from Big Magic Design.
Coupons can be used anytime before December 31, 2025.
Kimberley families can expect to see officers keeping an extra-close eye this summer, not for trouble, but for being positive members of the community.
