Members of the Windermere Fire Department responded to a small aircraft fire at Invermere Airport on Friday afternoon.
Crews arrived to find a section of the aircraft on fire and quickly worked to extinguish it.
The plane had landed prior to the fire breaking out, and no injuries were reported on scene.
Assistant Fire Chief Thomas Dobbin said two members of the Shuswap Band assisted with a water truck, helping get water on scene quickly.
Ten firefighters and three fire apparatus responded. RCMP and BC Ambulance attended as a precaution.
Firefighters remained on site to check for hot spots. The cause of the fire is undetermined but not considered suspicious.
