Rural property owners in the RDEK will soon receive their 2025 property tax notices, issued by the Province—not the RDEK.
“The RDEK is not a taxing authority,” says CFO Holly Ronnquist. “The Province collects the taxes and sends the regional district its share.”
Taxes must be paid to the Province, not the RDEK, either online or at Service BC.
The homeowner grant is also claimed online.
The RDEK’s portion is listed under local services on the notice and varies by service area.
Tax notices are expected by May 31, and the deadline to pay is July 2, 2025.
Questions about amounts owing should go to the Surveyor of Taxes at 1-888-355-2700, while RDEK-specific service questions can be directed to the RDEK.
