City water crews in Cranbrook have shifted their annual unidirectional water flushing operations to the area above Parkland Middle School, where work is expected to continue for the next few days.
The City’s Public Works department says the program, which runs each spring until the end of June, is essential for improving water quality.
Residents and businesses may notice cloudy water temporarily following flushing.
The City says this is not a health concern and recommends running cold taps until water clears.
The operation was previously focused on the South Hill area, including 14th Avenue South between 14th and 17th Streets.
