Fernie residents are invited to help the community by attending a grand feast this weekend.
“Feast for a Cause” is back for its second year at the Fernie Memorial Arena, this time to raise funds for much-needed diagnostic equipment at the Elk Valley Hospital. The East Kootenay Foundation for Health will be matching every dollar raised for this event.
“This fundraising event is in the fashion of a long table dinner,” said Fernie Rotary Club president Cindy Pearson. “We’ve got 13 restaurants participating, each of the restaurants creating what we call a tasting plate- a unique tasting plate that the attendees will get to enjoy.”
Guests can also participate in a silent auction featuring more than $30,000 worth of donated items, including trips, gift cards, and handmade goods.
You can buy tickets through the event website until 11:59 p.m. on Friday, May 2. The event is set to run from 6:30 p.m. to midnight on Saturday, May 3.
