The Cities of Kimberly and Cranbrook, along with Wildsight, are encouraging residents to help clean up local neighbourhoods to celebrate Earth Week.
Two clean-up events are planned this week, with both requiring residents to sign up online; the Springtime Spruce Up and a Co-Community Clean-Up.
Springtime Spruce Up: Running from Tuesday, April 22, to Friday, April 25, residents are encouraged to “team up with your business, friends, family or school to clean up an area of your choosing.”
Once registered, Wildsight says a community liaison will reach out to schedule a drop-off for bags and a planned route.
Co-Community Clean-Up: Taking place Saturday, April 26, residents can meet at either the Western Financial Place or the Centennial Centre at 10 a.m. to take part in trash pick-up.
Saturday’s clean-up is expected to run until 2 p.m. and residents are asked to bring their own “durable” gloves, dress for the weather and wear bright coloured clothes for better visibility.
Anyone wanting more information, or would like to register for either the Springtime Spruce Up, or Co-Community Clean-Up can visit Wildsight’s website.
