Several warnings and weather statements are in place for the East Kootenay and Elk Valley Tuesday.
Included is Winter Storm Warning for the Elk Valley and, in particular, near Fernie.
The forecast is for up to 30 centimetres of snow by tomorrow afternoon.
Snow will intensify this evening and overnight.
Winds tonight of Southeast 30 gusting to 60 km/h, at times in heavy snow, is also part of the statement from Environment Canada & Climate Change.
A Winter Storm Warning remains up for Highway 3 from the Kootenay Pass to Paulson Summit, with as much as 40 centimetres possible by tomorrow afternoon.
Visibility will be limited, at times, in heavy snow.
And, the Cranbrook region, including Kimberley and the Columbia Valley, is under a Special Weather Statement, being brushed by the same storm referred to above, with totals up to 15 centimetres by tomorrow.
