Campfire bans have now been lifted, ahead of the Labour Day Weekend, for both the Southeast and Kamloops Fire Centre, which covers the Okanagan.
It comes, however, with a warning from the Province to use caution and remain vigilant to prevent human-caused fires when enjoying the outdoors.
In a statement, the BC government pointing out that while some areas have benefited from recent rain, much of the province is experiencing above-normal drought conditions.
Heading into Thursday, there were 243 wildfires burning province-wide, however, just 36 were considered Out of Control and none were listed as Wildfires of Note.
Here in the Southeast Fire Centre, 79 wildfires continue to burn, but none are no longer rated as Out of Control.
70 of the 79, including the Mount Morro and Argenta Creek fires, here in the Kootenays, are considered as Being Held.
Restrictions and bans were also eased this week, as a result of damp conditions in the last seven to ten days.
