There were 88 calls for service during the week of June 24th to July 1st by officers with the Columbia Valley detachment of the RCMP.
Included among the responses – the drowning death of a 47-year-old man at the Windemere Community Beach this past Saturday.
Mounties, paramedics and Windemere Fire Rescue attended the scene.
STARS Air Ambulance was also called in, transporting the man to hospital in Calgary, where he later died.
Indications are the drowning was related to some type of medical event while in the water.
Meantime, RCMP in the valley are looking for a 35-year-old man wanted for outstanding warrants.
Lukas Wokoeck is described as a white male, 5-feet-9 inches tall, weighing about 179 pounds with brown hair and green eyes.
The recommendation is to not approach, if you happen to see him, but call the detachment at 250-342-9292.
And, finally, RCMP responded to an incident of a man seen staggering to his vehicle last Wednesday.
Police able to catch up to the person, a short time later; the driver failing on two separate breathalyzer tests.
