Investigators have ruled out foul play after a body was discovered in Cranbrook early Sunday.
Police responded to a report of a deceased man on a walking trail near Kinsman Park shortly after 8:00 am Sunday, October 3, deeming the death suspicious at the time.
Later Sunday, police confirmed that the man had been identified and foul play had been ruled out as a cause of death.
Police say the result is no less tragic, but it is important to advise area residents that their safety was not compromised.
The investigation is now being led by the BC Coroners Service.

On October 3rd, 2021 shortly after 8am Cranbrook RCMP responded to a report of deceased male on a walking trail near Kinsman Park. Investigators attended the scene to the East of Victoria Ave and deemed the death suspicious. Police are requesting the general public avoid the area and ask anyone who travelled the walking trails earlier this morning to call 250-489-3471.
