
Cranbrook residents will once again have access to Moir Park and the Moir Park dog park after the city allowed firefighters to put the amenity to use for temporary accommodations.
Firefighters were staying at Moir Park as they worked to address the 4,640 hectare St. Mary’s River wildfire.
The fire is currently listed as being held, but remains under a full response from wildfire officials.
All regular user group activities are allowed to resume at Moir Park at this time.

Moir Park and the Moir Park dog park have reopened to the public after the City allowed firefighters with the BC Wildfire Service to use the space as temporary accommodations as they worked the St. Mary’s River wildfire.
All regular user group activity at Moir Park can resume effective immediately.
The City of Cranbrook and the BC Wildfire Service appreciate the public’s understanding while Moir Park was closed during this time.
