A wildfire west of Sparwood has now grown to 41 hectares in size.
The out-of-control Lladnar Creek wildfire was triggered by lightning, starting in a high elevation on a ridgetop.
Due to no safe options being found for access and egress routes to the blaze, a modified response is being used for the fire.
A camera has been set up so that response officers can monitor the fire daily.
A suppression plan is being developed for when the fire reaches an area that crews will be able to work on it.
Currently, four homes on Sparwood’s Matevic Road are on Evacuation Alert in connection to the ongoing wildfire.
