A structure fire in Edgewater is being responded to by multiple fire departments in the Columbia Valley.
18 firefighters from the Edgewater, Radium, Windermere and Invermere Fire Departments arrived on scene to find the house fully engulfed.
The crews were able to keep the fire contained and will remain on scene to ensure any hotspots are cooled and extinguished.
No injuries were reported in the fire, the cause of the blaze is under investigation.

Members of the Edgewater, Radium, Windermere and Invermere Fire Departments are on the scene of a structure fire in Edgewater this afternoon.
“When we arrived on scene, the home was fully engulfed,” says Columbia Valley Rural Fire & Rescue Assistant Fire Chief Joss Advocaat. “I want to acknowledge the support of the public and their diligence in reporting the fire early, along with the tremendous work by all of the responding firefighters who were able to keep the fire contained to the single residence in these tinder-dry conditions.”
18 firefighters responded to the call and crews will remain on scene for much of the afternoon ensuring any hot spots are cooled and extinguished.
The three occupants of the home were all able to exit safely and there were no injuries as a result of the fire.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
