Amplify East Kootenay and Save On Foods are showcasing local businesses who are amping up their neighbourhood.
Moonlit Fangs Tattoo has only been open in Cranbrook for six months but has already established an inclusive and eco-friendly reputation.
Artist Jess Gowling says 60-80 per cent of materials used for client safety are biodegradable.
“We have almost zero impact on the earth within three to four years after we do your tattoo,” say Gowling. “I’m also a client focused practice, we focus on making sure that the client is number one, that they feel safe, that they’re autonomy is the focus and that they always have consent and control over their body and the time in the space.”
Gowling plans to expand the business by partnering with an artist from Salmon Arm in the near future.
“Look forward to more creative pursuits, you don’t have to just get a body modification to enjoy this creative space,” she says. “I’m looking forward to that and just continuing to collaborate with my community and helping them realize their visual art dreams on their bods.”
Moonlit Fangs Tattoo is located at 16 11 Ave South Cranbrook, appointments are booked online only.
