The BC River Forecast Centre is warning of a province wide drought this summer.
This as the provincial snowpack is averaging four per cent of normal levels, with the snowpack in the East Kootenay and Upper Columbia both at zero per cent.
Forecasters say several factors are contributing to a drought across BC this summer, including lingering effects of a drought in Fall 2022, an unusually dry and warm winter and an early 2023 snowmelt.
The River Forecast Centre also warns there is a high likelihood for above normal temperatures across the province this summer, contributing to a drought.
