A new event is set to make a significant contribution to neo-natal care in the East Kootenay.
The Rockies Car Show is being hosted at Bridge Interiors and Pop Price Park in Cranbrook on July 22 as a fundraiser for the East Kootenay Foundation for Health’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit campaign.
It will allow car enthusiasts to showcase their vehicles, while residents can enjoy live music performances, beer gardens and food trucks.
Foundation Executive Director Brenna Baker says the event will help support EKFH’s ‘A Warm Embrace’ campaign, with a 1.8 million dollar goal for neonatal care locally in the region.
“Currently with our pediatric unit, we have to send our babies away, but we will be building a neonatal intensive care unit,” Baker says. “So babies up to 32 weeks, we might be able to keep them close to home, depending on their health conditions.”
Bridge Interiors owner Ken Bridge is happy to have Bridge Interiors involved with this important cause.
“Its something that I’ve been thinking about for a really long time,” Bridge says. “Its coming together really, really well. We’ve had a lot of support from the community and everybody that’s participated is donating 100 percent of their time.”
