A closure at the Fernie Aquatic Centre is continuing through the weekend.
Fernie residents will be unable to use the Aquatic Centre until early next week.
The pool began an extended closure to the public last Friday, due to a swim meet and planned repairs to the Aquatic Centre’s slide.
But an overnight water leak was discovered on Wednesday, prompting the closure to be extended further until May 2.
The leak damaged the boilers for both the main pool and leisure pool.
A replacement boiler is expected to arrive early next week and replacement parts for the other boiler are on order.
All public programming that was scheduled during the unplanned closure has been affected and participants have been notified.
