Police in the Columbia Valley say the Public Service Alliance of Canada strike is impacting all RCMP detachments in some capacity.
Columbia Valley RCMP say they will be open during regular business hours, but non-emergency requests like finger printing and criminal record checks may take longer than usual to process.
The national strike for more than 155,000 federal servants began April 19.
Reports from the Canadian Press indicate Canada’s largest public service union says some striking workers are moving their picket lines to ports and other strategic locations to put more pressure on the federal government as of Monday, April 24.

On Wednesday April 19th the Public Service Alliance of Canada officially went on strike. This has impacted all RCMP detachments in some capacity. The Columbia Valley Detachment will still be open during normal business hours however some non-emergency requests such as fingerprinting and criminal records checks could take longer then usual to process.
