Backcountry enthusiasts are being warned of a considerable avalanche danger in mountain ranges stretching from Kimberley to Golden.
The forecast from Avalanche Canada expects the danger rating in the treeline and alpine to remain a considerable risk for the next few days.
Forecasters say high daytime freezing levels and mild overnight temperatures continue to stress an already weak snowpack throughout the region.
Anyone heading into the mountain ranges locally should stick to conservative low angle terrain and avoid thin and rocky areas where warming is expected to be the most intense.
