Kimberley Alpine Resort is winding down ski season with a splash.
Resorts of the Canadian Rockies spokesperson Powder Matt Mosteller says the annual Spring Splash event is happening at KAR Saturday and Sunday as the resort’s regular hours of operation come to an end for the season.
“A weekend of live music, beer gardens, a pond skim challenge, and a dummy downhill event which happens Sunday,” Mosteller says. “Family fun and friendly events are open to all ages. Participants are encouraged to get creative for the pond skim challenge, you can build different things to create your skimming delight. More information on how to register is available online.”
The event will include live performances by the bands BC/DC and Alderbash.
Mosteller says the festivities mark the end of a great season.
“Mother nature has provided some incredible snow conditions, our grooming teams have made wonderful skiing surfaces, lift operations and the running of all of our lifts,” he says. “And food and beverage teams having a great time down in the village area, providing wonderful food for everyone’s enjoyment. Mostly that we had lots of smiles up on the slopes all season long.”
