Sports groups in Cranbrook, Fernie and Kimberley are all benefitting from newly announced sporting event funding from the province.
The BC Government is providing one million dollars to sport organizations, so they can host events to attract tourists to the province.
A total of 131 organizations received funding through the program provincewide, six of those groups based locally.
Three different skiing events in Kimberley were supported, with funds totaling $20,000.
Two $4,500 grants were also provided to a provincial curling championship in Cranbrook in January and the upcoming Wasa Triathlon in June.
