Columbia Valley RCMP say reports of a student bringing a gun to school in Invermere last week turned out to be a false alarm.
Police were contacted by David Thompson Secondary School Thursday after an anonymous tip claimed a student was bringing a gun to school.
The student was located by staff and no firearm was found.
Police spoke to the student and were satisfied there was no threat, it is unknown where the anonymous tip came from.

On February 16th, Columbia Valley RCMP were contacted by DTSS as they received an anonymous tip that a student was bringing a gun to the school.
The student in question was already located by staff and no firearm was located.
It is unknown where the information originated from.
The student was spoken to by police whom were satisfied there was no threat to the students or teachers.
