Special weather statements have been issued for most of British Columbia as another blast of arctic air is expected in the province Friday night.
Environment Canada has revised its outlook on temperatures, saying the thermostat is now expected to drop up to 10 degrees below the usual for this time of year in central BC and the Southern Interior.
It says gusty winds will accompany the cold air, and while temperatures are expected to rise late next week, the timing is uncertain.
Environment Canada has also issued a Snowfall warning for the East Kootenay, with up to 20 centimetres expected by Saturday morning.
Forecasters believe the heaviest amount of snow will fall in the Kimberley area.
Drivers are advised to be prepared for winter driving conditions.
