The City of Fernie is struggling to maintain it’s local trails and pathways this winter.
The City was unable to secure a contractor for the winter grooming program and trail users will be noticing a change in the level of service from previous years.
Last week staff brought on a contractor to level the dike trails and grooming route, but this was a one-time arrangement.
The city promises to continue looking for temporary fixes throughout the winter if they’re unable to secure a permanent solution before winter’s end.
