The Elk Valley Hospital’s first baby of 2023 is a girl.
Baby Cara was born on January 2nd to Zach and Nicolette Wassink.
This follows the first child born at East Kootenay Regional Hospital, who was born on New Year’s Day at 2:10 am.
Baby Desmond Burleigh was also the first baby of the year for the entire Interior Health region.
