Its a boy!
East Kootenay Regional Hospital welcomed their first baby of 2023 on New Year’s Day.
A baby boy was born to Brandi and Logan Burleigh at 2:10 am.
Desmond Burleigh was eight pounds, seven ounces at the time of birth.
Baby Desmond also has the added distinction of being the first baby of the year for all of Interior Health.
No word on a baby being born at Elk Valley Hospital at this time.
The BC government says the first child born in the province in 2023 was delivered at Abbotsford Regional Hospital at 12:02 am PT Sunday.
