This following a flood in the medical device reprocessing department, affecting the availability of surgical kits.
Interior Health says the department is expected to be out of operation for up to six weeks.
Emergency surgeries will make use of kits sterilized at alternate locations.

Interior Health is postponing some elective surgeries at East Kootenay Regional Hospital (EKRH) after a flood in the medical device reprocessing department affecting the availability of surgical kits.
Emergency surgeries will continue at EKRH using surgical kits sterilized at alternate locations.
The department is expected to be out of operation for up to six weeks.
Impacted patients will be notified directly about their upcoming procedures.
All postponed cases will be booked as a priority as soon as enough surgical kits are available for both emergency and non-emergency surgeries.
