Drivers are being warned to expect some snow over the Kootenay Pass Tuesday night.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Highway 3 through the Kootenay Pass.
Forecasters warn up to 15 centimetres of snow are expected overnight.
The sudden change in weather conditions can cause hazardous driving conditions, especially in the mountain passes.
