The Ktunaxa Nation is welcoming you to its many events over the upcoming weekend to recognize Truth And Reconciliation Day.
On Thursday, September 29, you can stop by the Aq’am Arbour and KKCSFF parking area for the Pow Wow Prep event, you’ll learn about pow wow protocol, drums, traditional dances and more – this is happening from 3:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
There will be a Truth and Reconciliation Walk Friday, September 30, at St. Eugene Mission from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, the event will also include a lunch and youth open mic session.
On Saturday, October 1, a traditional pow wow is happening at Aqamnik School, grand entry times are 1:00 pm and 7:00 pm, a feast is set for 5:30 pm.

September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This day honours Survivors of Canada’s residential school system, their families, communities, and those who did not make it home. It helps ensure public commemoration of the history and legacy of residential schools in our country and is an important step in the process toward reconciliation.
