The BC Wildfire Service is reporting good progress with regards to the Mount Docking fire east of Radium Hot Springs.
The blaze is no longer listed as a “Wildfire of Note” by the BC Wildfire Service, it is now classified as “being held”
The Connell Ridge fire south of Cranbrook and the Weasel Creek fire east of Roosville are the only wildfires of note in the East Kootenay as of Friday, August 26.
Meanwhile, two new wildfires have been discovered in the Columbia Valley south of Invermere.
Both fires are smaller than 1 hectare, the cause of these new blazes is currently unknown.
