Three wildfires of note in the East Kootenay and Elk Valley regions continue to a primary focus for BC Wildfire Service crews.
The Cummings Creek wildfire outside of Sparwood has seen growth slow to the north east due to hitting wetter areas around the creek.
This has given fire crews an opportunity to work in the area to deal with overgrown vegetation and increase safe access points to the blaze.
The Cummings Creek Wildfire is estimated at 52 hectares in size.

The fire is currently estimated at 17 hundred hectares in size.
And the Weasel Creek fire east of Roosville now covers about 1,087 hectares on the Canadian side of the border.
Winds proved to be a challenge for containment lines yesterday, with crews maintaining suppression efforts last night.
