The Village of Canal Flats is restricting water usage to help the community beat the heat.
Watering restrictions are in effect, this means watering of lawns, gardens, trees and landscaped areas are restricted to use of a hand-held hose, canister or a sprinkler irrigation system.
Odd numbered addresses may water on odd numbered calendar days from 6:00 am to 10:00 am and 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
Likewise, even numbered addresses may water on even numbered calendar days from 6:00 am to 10:00 am and 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
Homeowners who are found violating watering restrictions may face a fine.
A statement from the Village of Canal Flats is available below:
As part of the Village of Canal Flats Water Conservation Plan and due to the hot weather, effective July 21st, a watering restriction will be implemented.
Watering of lawns, gardens, trees and landscaped areas is restricted to use of a hand-held hose with an automatic shut-off mechanism, hand-held canister, or use of a sprinkler or a drip irrigation system:
Even numbered civic addresses may water on even numbered calendar days between the hours of 6:00am to 10:00am and 6:00pm and 10:00pm; and odd numbered civic addresses may water on odd numbered calendar days between the hours of 6:00am to 10:00am and 6:00pm and 10:00pm.
All other outdoor uses of water may only be undertaken with the use of containers or a hand-held hose with an automatic shut-off mechanism.
Public Works employees may enter your property to turn off hoses for violations and property owners may be fined.
Your cooperation in this matter is appreciated.
