Cranbrook could be getting a new sister city.
Representatives from Fountain Hills, Arizona attended Monday’s city council meeting to pitch becoming sister cities with Cranbrook.
Former Cranbrook resident Carol Ann Naso says the Key City is a perfect fit as a sibling for Fountain Hills.
“We are similar in size, both within North America, and reasonably offer an array of cultural and recreational activities, unrivaled beauty and a great quality of life,” Naso says. “Differences we encounter between the two cities will be learning vehicles for us.”
She explained how sister cities build a bond through exchange programs to share each other’s cultures.
“We’re at a place in time now where we can entertain adult exchanges,” she says. “So, it could be golfing exchanges, hiking, just: visit us we visit you and explore what each other’s community has to offer.”
Fountain Hills has four sister cities while Cranbrook has one; Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
