The College of the Rockies (COTR) is looking to plant more ways to touch grass thanks to its latest partnership with the Outdoor Recreation Council of BC.
“This partnership reflects our shared belief that outdoor recreation is not only central to the culture and lifestyle of British Columbians, but also to the strength and resilience of our regional economies,” said Michael Crowe, COTR president.
“By working with the Outdoor Recreation Council of BC, we are helping to shape a more coordinated, innovative, and sustainable outdoor recreation sector—one where our students, communities, and industry partners can create new paths together.”
The three-year Memorandum of Understanding combines the Council’s sector knowledge and stakeholder connections with COTR’s regional expertise and community connections in East Kootenay.
Collaboration opportunities include educational and professional training, applied research projects, and coordinating with industry and provincial partners.
The MOU is set to be reviewed annually to find new initiatives that support economic diversification, sustainable outdoor recreation and workforce development.
