Habitat for Humanity is planning a new two-family home in Cranbrook, with construction expected to begin in late spring 2026.
Organizers say the project will see a side-by-side duplex built on land donated by the city at 2600 4th St. S., following council approval in July 2025.
Each unit is set to include three bedrooms, one-and-a-half bathrooms, and an unfinished basement to allow for future expansion.
Habitat for Humanity says applications will open later in the spring.
The organization says the program is for working families who face barriers to traditional homeownership and includes an affordable mortgage and a required volunteer commitment.
Executive director John Campbell says the project will provide stable housing for two families while engaging local volunteers and partners.
Cranbrook Mayor Wayne Price says the build will help address the community’s need for affordable housing and aligns with the city’s housing strategy.
Habitat for Humanity says it is planning a community open house to provide more information about the project.
