A local market and kids carnival held at the Cranbrook Alliance Church has raised much-needed funding for the local Pregnancy Care Centre.
On October 25, “Shop with a Purpose” welcomed 27 Kootenay-based artisans, bakers, home businesses and more – many of whom sold out before the day ended.
“We are so very grateful to the city of Cranbrook and surrounding area for showing up in such incredible numbers to support this important event,” said organizers Carol Conroy of Impact Life Coaching and Jennifer Bird of Bird Marketing Group. “The response exceeded all expectations and truly reflected the heart of this community.”

The initiative has raised $24,800 for the Cranbrook Pregnancy Care Centre (CPCC) Society’s $30,000 goal, which helps women and families navigate unexpected pregnancies in the East Kootenay region.
“We’re also deeply grateful to our local businesses, churches, and individuals for their generous donations and support. Together, you’ve helped strengthen the foundation of a ministry dedicated to providing hope and practical help to women and families in our community.” said CPCC board member Christine Algard.
The Centre is still gearing up to open its doors in 2026, but those looking to donate can visit its page online.
