A cold snap brought record-setting temperatures to the Sparwood area yesterday, Oct. 14.
According to Environment Canada, Sparwood dropped to -6.9°C, breaking the previous record of -6.7°C set in 1973.
Weather records have reportedly been kept in the Sparwood area since 1969.
Frost advisories and cold morning lows have affected much of the region, though temperatures are expected to moderate slightly heading into the weekend.
