Phase one of construction on the St. Mary’s Sanitary Sewer Upgrades project in Cranbrook is now complete, according to a recent statement from the City of Cranbrook.
The work, carried out by Gally Equipment as part of the City’s 2025 capital works program, is intended to increase sewer capacity near St. Mary’s Catholic School.
The City also stated that paving along Rotary Way will not be completed this fall.
Officials say ground conditions are too soft to support proper asphalt installation and that it would not withstand winter conditions.
Despite the paving delay, the City says the path will reopen for public use on October 20.
The project is funded in part through the Canada Community Building Fund, formerly known as the Gas Tax Fund.
