Air travellers in the East Kootenay will soon have more options, as Canadian Rockies International Airport expands its flight service this fall.
Beginning Oct. 27, WestJet is set to resume its early morning and late-night flights between Cranbrook and Calgary, restoring same-day travel options for passengers.
“Whether you’re planning a quick getaway or catching an important meeting, these convenient flight options offer even more flexibility,” WestJet said in a social media post.
Pacific Coastal Airlines is also returning to the region, launching daily service between Cranbrook and Kelowna.
The move marks the airline’s return to Cranbrook after more than a year’s absence.
The Cranbrook–Kelowna service will reportedly operate on Pacific Coastal’s Beechcraft 1900 aircraft.
Connections through Kelowna will also provide increased access to Vancouver Island, with stops in Victoria, Nanaimo and Comox.
