Kimberley RCMP has introduced its new commander at the latest Council meeting.
Acting commander Cpl. Dean Kletzel welcomed S/Sgt. Dan Biggs to Council Monday (Sep. 8).
“This is my sixth attachment, so I have bounced around quite a bit, but I have a little guy at home who’s two, and then another one coming in October,” said S/Sgt. Biggs. “So this will be where we plant our roots for a little while.”
His 14-year policing career ranged from Squamish and Yellowknife to Surrey’s major crime unit and running an investigative team in Maple Ridge.
“I would say in the last five, six years, I’ve had a lot of experience with higher-end investigations, but community policing was a part of Yellowknife.”
S/Sgt. Steve Woodcox has moved on to another detachment as of early July this year. Kimberley RCMP announced the arrival of a new commander with its last quarterly report in August.
