Fire Chief Scott Driver of Cranbrook has been recognized with the Meritorious Achievement Award from the Fire Chiefs’ Association of British Columbia.
The honour was presented in June at the 94th Annual FCABC Conference and Education Summit held in Penticton.
The award acknowledges a fire chief who has made a notable contribution to fire prevention, emergency response, and public safety in British Columbia.
Cranbrook City Council formally congratulated Driver during its meeting at a town council meeting July 14.
Driver has served as Cranbrook’s fire chief for the past six years.
During that time, he has also taken on provincial responsibilities, including serving as Director of the Kootenay Boundary Region (Zone 4).
In that role, he has led regional training efforts and contributed to committees focused on wildfire mitigation and fire prevention.
The FCABC award highlights Driver’s leadership and collaborative efforts in improving fire services and safety both within the region and across the province.
