The Canadian Rockies International Airport (YXC) recorded its busiest June to date, with just under 15,000 passengers passing through the terminal.
The total represents an increase of 750 passengers compared to June 2024, marking a new milestone for the small airport and highlighting continued growth in local travel.
“Increased passenger volumes reflect a strong return to travel, growing confidence in regional tourism,” said Tristen Chernove, CEO of Elevate Airports Inc.
The airport also celebrated the official opening of its new on-site restaurant, Delightfull, which offers breakfast, lunch, and premium coffee to both travellers and airport staff.
The addition has been described as an enhancement to the passenger experience.
In a separate announcement, YXC confirmed it has joined NotInMyCity, a Canadian initiative aimed at combating human trafficking and sexual exploitation.
As an official ally, the airport has committed to increasing awareness, providing staff training, and supporting safety for vulnerable individuals.
“We’re focused on more than just numbers,” said Chernove.
“We’re building a gateway that reflects the values of our region, hospitality, safety, and community care.”
