The Kimberley Seahorse Swim Club is playing host to a regional competition this coming weekend at the Aquatic Centre.
With 56 active swimmers, newly-acquired head coach “Homie” Haghighi Jadid is impressed with the size and calibre of the club…
“The participation from this meet is growing. Membership seems like it’s growing and the kids are significantly improving just in the last five, six weeks,” added Haghighi-Jadid, who is off for the summer break from his full-time coaching position at Simon Fraser University. “It’s been incredible.”
This weekend’s meet will feature 53 swimmers from Kimberley, with roughly the same number combined from the five other clubs participating – Trail, Castlegar, Nelson, Grand Forks, and Colville, WA.
Action begins both Saturday and Sunday at 8 a.m.
