After nearly five years in and out of foster care, Silky and Lacey, are once again looking for a permanent home.
Originally semi-feral, the pair came into the care of Meant 2B Loved Animal Rescue (M2BL) in 2019, each with a litter of kittens.
Over time, the kittens were adopted, and rescuers worked patiently to socialize the shy mothers.
After their first adoption, the cats escaped and spent two months hiding under the home, prompting repeated rescue trips and nighttime monitoring.
Silky was the first to be re-captured, followed by Lacey weeks later.
Eventually reunited in the same adoptive home, the cats lived happily for nearly two years before being returned to M2BL’s care through no fault of their own.
Now fully socialized and thriving indoors, Silky and Lacey are ready for a fresh start.
M2BL is urging potential adopters to consider the companionship bonded pairs like these can bring.
“These girls have come so far,” said a spokesperson for M2BL. “They’re affectionate, resilient, and more than ready for their forever home, together.”
