The City of Cranbrook’s Choose Cranbrook website has received the 2025 Marketing Innovation Award from the BC Economic Development Association (BCEDA).
The site was recognized for its strong visuals, video storytelling, and clear messaging.
It promotes investment, supports newcomers, and highlights regional partnerships, particularly with the ʔaq’am community and Ktunaxa Nation.
Key features include the use of Ktunaxa language and culture, an interactive Homelands Map, a Newcomers Guide, and a Data Portal showcasing Cranbrook’s economic strengths.
“This award reflects true collaboration and local talent,” said Darren Brewer, Economic Development Officer, who acknowledged partners GENEX Marketing, Lukas Nemeth Films, Cranbrook Tourism, and CityViz.
Cranbrook also received the Community Resilience Award, presented to Gregg Berg of Kootenay Employment Services for the Rural Economic Development program, which supported 23 local businesses.
“Winning two awards is something our whole community can celebrate,” said Mayor Wayne Price.
